Over 200 merchants filled the Palmer Events Center for last weekend’s A Christmas Affair. This annual Christmas market was sponsored by the Junior League of Austin. This year’s theme was ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas in Texas—Y’All (pronounced with a Texas twang). Proceeds from this popular event benefited 32 local non-profits.
Based on my previous visits, I knew to arrive before the doors were opened at 10 AM. My first task was to take a picture of their always-lovely Christmas tree. Within the first hour, the market was packed with shoppers, but I still enjoyed browsing the booths. Here’s some of the unusual gifts that I came across…
Sparkly tootsies: sequined slippers
More sparkle for tootsies: light-up shoe laces
Latest Christmas decorating trend: Santa legs
Another decorating trend: faux taxidermy mounts
Really a Southern food: chocolate gravy
Drool control: Neckerchew
1 Mega Dum Dum = 10 Regular Dum Dums
Cuteness overload: walking pet balloons
