South by Southwest starts tomorrow in Austin. Our city is in a tizzy. Hotels are filling up with out-of-town visitors. Stores are brimming with new merchandise. Temporary event venues are popping up in vacant buildings and on the few remaining parking lots. Our  ubiquitous street construction seems to be taking a break. And traffic is a mess.

The Austin Convention Center is the epicenter of the SxSW activity. Bill and I walked over to pick up our badges and session booklets today. Food trucks were already serving registrants, staff, and volunteers. Everything nearby is wrapped in plastic, even the garbage cans, trees, and light fixtures. Some posters and notices have already been posted.

Ready or not, here comes SxSW…
