South by Southwest starts tomorrow in Austin. Bill is a wily veteran of SxSW. I am a newbie. The Film and Interactive events begin tomorrow. There’s also Comedy, Sports, Gaming, and other tracks that I don’t know about yet. Music starts next Tuesday.

This evening we walked over to the Austin Convention Center to pick up our badges and guides. Posters for the SxSW films were on display, the Information Booths were staffed, and some of the snacks stands were open.

Downtown buildings and parking lots are being transformed into destination locations. A nearby Mexican restaurant has now become Samsung Galaxy.

An empty lot has now become the Bates Motel. Hopefully no one has booked this place since the actual rooms seem to be missing.

Jimmy Kimmel’s show will be broadcast from Austin next week. Fortunately, we have the MetroRail train to remind us.
