Pro-choice and pro-life protesters descended upon the state capitol today as the new special session of the Texas Legislature began. After State Senator Wendy Davis’ successful filibuster last week, Governor Rick Perry has called another session to again consider a bill to further restrict abortions.

This evening around 8 PM, thousands of pro-choice demonstrators marched through the streets of downtown Austin. This was easily the largest protest that we’ve seen since moving downtown almost three years ago.

This second special session is now convened for 30 days. July will be a very interesting month…
