One must maintain a little bit of summer, even in the winter. (Henry David Thoreau)
Austin went from summer directly to winter this year. No autumn. And I know exactly when this happened: last Tuesday morning. I watched the dark storm clouds of the cold front roll through south Austin, and the temperatures had dipped within 30 minutes. Time to pull out the jackets, sweaters, and long pants.
Just a few days before, I was wandering through the Zilker Botanical Garden on a beautiful sunshiny day. The warm-weather flowers were still in full bloom. Here’s a few photographs from that visit, to brighten up my day…and maybe yours as well.

Beautiful photos!
Too long since I’ve walked down there. Beautiful flowers. I especially liked the passion flower. Such an intricate blossom.
