I hadn’t really planned to attend this month’s City-Wide Garage Sale. After my visit last year, I remember thinking, “Been there, done that.” But since I was already at the Palmer Events Center last weekend for the Gem Capers Show, I decided to pay the $6 admission and look around.
I quickly realized that this might be the second-best place in Austin to get a Halloween costume. Of course, Lucy in Disguise with Diamonds on South Congress would be my first choice, but this super-sized garage sale had lots and lots of potential costumes.
So…what to pick for this year’s costume?
A lovely kimono?
A Texan theme?
Or maybe more of a gringo look?
Something formal?
Or something more magical?
