The Capital of Texas QuiltFest was held at the Palmer Events Center last weekend. This annual show always features many beautiful and creative quilts created by Central Texas quilters. The raffle quilt (above) was a stunning example of this year’s theme, Red, White & Stars.
I admired a special exhibit of miniature red and white quilts called Little Ruby Jubilation. These lovely pieces were all created by sisters Ellen Carter and Andrea Blackhurst.
The Best in Show award went to Judy Wolff for her Paisley Park Feathered Star. She told me that she was both surprised and honored to win. Her award-winning quilt took about six months to complete.
Here’s some of my favorites from this year’s QuiltFest:
Psycho – Michael Jones
Circles, Circles and More Circles – Emma Krenek
Around the Corner, on Annie – Sherri Grant, Ava Turner, Joan McKelvey
New Life Quilt I – Quilt Divas Bee, Jill Turnbaugh
Urban Planning (Gone Awry) – Katie Winter
Wrapped in Love – Margery Hedges
Night Sky – Hill Country Quilters Bee
Eagle Eyes – Margery Hedges
Brenda Jane Biggs – Lisa Walker
Fonstren (The Windows) – Diana Baldwin, Sherri Grant, Carin Shaughnessy
Venture in Crazy Quilting – Betty Dunn

Thanks for posting the photos. I hated to miss it this year.
You are welcome! I didn’t realize that red and white quilts were a thing. Very pretty!
