O Toy Joy Trees: 2014

IMG_1521

Toy Joy is a fun place to visit any time of the year, but I especially like to go to this Second Street toy store during the holiday season. This year, this was my go-to store for stocking stuffers. And they definitely had the most unusual Christmas trees in town.

Toy Joy has been in business since 1987, but 2014 was a tough year. The original owners were forced into bankruptcy and closed the store back in March. Then the owner of two other downtown stores (Wild About Music and Austin Rocks) bought the business and reopened again in April. I am happy to report that the checkout lines were long this past week. As I wrote last year, all neighborhoods really should have a toy store. Good luck to the new owners!
