There’s a new mural in town.
This 12-story mural was recently painted on the west side of The Line hotel (formerly a Radisson), right next to the Congress Avenue Bridge. Urban artists Sandra Chevrier and Shepard Fairey created this gigantic piece in honor of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. It took them four days to paint what is now the biggest mural in Austin. The mural, which doesn’t seem to have a name, is part of the Writing on the Walls project sponsored by the Downtown Austin Alliance.
